We here at Smart Energy try to bicycle as much as possible. While we’d love to say it’s entirely due to our belief in reducing fossil fuel consumption, the lack of automobile parking, the nice California weather, and the exercise might also play a part. That’s why we’re always on the lookout for clever new designs.
Inhabitat is reporting today on a new electric bicycle by Daymark called the Shadow eBike. This bike, unlike its electric bike counterparts, has kept its wiring to a minimum, with most of it being hidden away within the front wheel hub. This keeps you from getting tangled up and ripping out something important. But what we really like is that it includes a USB port, a charging port, an LED battery power display, and a wheel generator. The canary yellow paint isn’t too bad either!
The bike comes with either a 250W or 350W electric motor and a 36V 10AH lithium-ion battery. If you’re running only on battery power, it can take you 12-15 miles, with the battery taking over 4 hours to completely recharge. It’s expected to be released April 30 with a retail price of $1,999.
